An angler tries 10 years for the bite he’s going for, and ends up landing the country’s biggest fish.
A 53-year-old from Caversham, Great Britain has caught the country’s biggest freshwater fish, a 68-pound, 1-ounce carp nicknamed ‘The Parrot.”
Dean Fletcher landed the record at Cranwells Lake at the Wasing Estate in Berkshire, a private lake he had waited seven years to gain access to. Another three years of targeting “The Parrot” finally paid off, and Fletcher landed the behemoth after a 30-minute struggle. A verified weight from a head game keeper should secure the new record.
